Biography
A native Southern Californian, Dr. Lisa Hertz earned her Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at UCLA. . Dr. Hertz is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She has been in private practice in the Long Beach/Los Alamitos area since 1989 and has extensive experience in treating a wide range of gastrointestinal illnesses with a focus on promoting thorough and complete healing through personal, intuitive and research-based care. Special areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease) as well as colon cancer screening.
Dr. Hertz is currently a member of the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the Long Beach branch of the American Medical Women’s Association. She has served as Chair of Gastroenterology at St. Mary’s Medical Center and currently sits on the medical executive committee at the Memorial Outpatient Surgery Center of Long Beach.
In addition to practicing medicine, she is a devoted mother to her two daughters Ali and Chloe, as well as her four legged children Ruby, Peanut and Betsy. She enjoys working in her garden at home and being an advocate for environmental and animal rights issues.
